My name is Jacob Love, I’m 22 years old from Perth, Western Australia.

I first picked up a camera when I was 11 years old, not long after I first started riding bmx. Growing up in small town the riding scene was very small but it wasn’t long till I got a video camera and started filming myself and my friends riding including all the shenanigans alongside. I started uploading to YouTube and I carried on making bmx edits for years, a lot them were quite bad. Spots to ride in our town were limited and we had a subpar local skatepark. It didn’t really matter though, we made the most of what we had and I was slowly progressing and having fun riding and filming with my mates. I was stoked to finally upgrade and get a Canon 600D with a fisheye setup when I was about 16. Everything went up from there for my filming. I moved out of the the small town to the suburbs of Perth, where there was an actual scene. I never really stoped filming and making friends through BMX, who were super good and great to film. I’m stoked to be able to have a couple projects and edits I’m proud of and have my younger years on film to look back on.

Related Goods - Related started in 2019, with an idea of a BMX/action sport apparel brand. We made a mixtape of BMX/ skating and some merch with the crew we had at the time. It was fun but always wanted to build the brand more and make a go of it. Only recently I feel we’re just getting started as a brand taking things more seriously with apparel and the projects we’re working on. We dropped mixtape 2 at the start of the year which was a good start and has some sick riding from the boys and just good times all round. I’m excited for what’s to come with our video projects especially with the homie Fabio Canetti killing it lately and pumping out good content. Shoutout to the boys and whoever let me film them over the years and anyone who has supported the brand.

Ramp Slayers - Fabio reached out to me to go film a video for him for ramp slayers. I was keen and we organised a weekend to film. Fabio lives a few hours south from me so we organised to go film for two days over the weekend at couple skateparks in Perth. We spent most of our time at the new Bayswater Skatepark but it provided the goods for Fabios style. Big ramps and box jumps! We managed to get a fair few clips there, but spent a couple hours at Wanneroo skatepark to film some bowl stuff. Wanneroo bowl was honestly a bit of challenge to film, I haven’t filmed too much bowl stuff but it was good practice and Fabio went in! He even had a pretty rough crash doing a manual on the deck then washing out on the coping. The bowl is no joke and we walked away with a few clips we were happy with and surprised myself on filming it decent haha. The whole two days were dope and was good to focus on just filming and putting Fabio’s riding on display for ramp slayers. Thanks Fab for trusting me to film and street culture for the opportunity it was fun!
