CHAPTER 12 - FELIPE CANDIA , CHILE
Questions: 1 - How was your life before bmx?
my life before bmx was an ordinary life. I only played at home or I watched a lot of television or sometimes I played Playstation but I didn't go out much
2- what were your dreams as a child?
my dreams as a child were simply to do fantastic things like fly hahahaha or be like Goku from dragon ball Z hahahaha
3-What was your main motivation to risk bmx to the fullest?
I don't think I've ever had a motivation to risk my bmx and I think I never will hahaha I want to ride longer and sometimes in bmx the injuries can be very strong
4-in the darkest moments of your life than bmx, what role did you play and why did you cling to bmx?
my darkest moments erm I'm not sure the truth, but what I do is cling to Bmx because it clears you of all the problems you may have
5- how is your life when you are not riding a bike?
When I'm not riding a bmx I dedicate time to my family (girlfriend and daughter) we watch movies, go shopping or go out to eat something or whatever we can think of.
6-many know your life as a rider but few know what it cost you to get there, so what were your biggest challenges to become a person who focuses his life on this beautiful lifestyle?
The truth is that everyone always sees me happy walking but there is always work and effort behind it. I think my biggest challenge was learning not to compete and simply walking with my own style without seeking to be the best.
7- to this day, what challenges have you experienced and how has bmx helped you overcome them
The truth is that he has not had to have great personal challenges in which I have to hide in the bmx and I hope it continues to be that way
8- if you could talk with your past self, with the 5-year-old boy, with the 7-year-old boy, what would you say to him?
If I had that opportunity, I would tell myself that I immediately made the decision to ride a bmx to make the most of those moments of entertainment and to be able to meet more people and places.
9- There are many boys out there who suffer from depression, strong addictions to drugs and live very badly, many boys who have not tried BMX out of fear, what message would you give to the world so that it never gives up and never stops dreaming?
To all those guys who have problems with drugs or whatever they carry on their backs, I would say to look for some kind of extreme sport in which they can have the
Adrenaline necessary to enjoy the moments to the fullest and that feeling is your new drug, a healthy drug that you will not regret.
