I want to tell you how I started riding BMX: I was looking for different sports, I tried football, basketball, but the desire to play passed after a while. And now, in the summer of 2012, I was at the dacha and rode my grandmother's old bike, jumped on the curbs and at that moment thought, maybe there is a special bike for this... There was one great connection with the bicycle so I started looking and found that BMX existed. The idea came to me and I started watching a video, one of the first videos that caught my attention was one of Bruno Hofmann's video parts, after a month my parents bought me a BMX and that's how my story began.
I started riding, found a lot of friends and together we started to move and progress, but it turned out that my progress was a little faster and I started to quickly gain momentum. In the first year and a half of riding, I didn't even know we had a skate park in town, all my bmx riding was on dirt and asphalt, maybe there were steps.
When I started visiting skate parks, progress was picking up, but there was no thought that I could ride for someone else and get paid for it. I rode bmx because I like it but a clothing brand caught my level, which was a surprise for me and an additional motivation.
Fortunately I did not have serious falls, I think I was very lucky in this regard, in 2015, in front of my eyes, a friend tore his cruciate ligament, he stopped walking because of an easy trick, and this is very sad and there are more and more cases of this type, because BMX is a very traumatic sport and you have to take it seriously.
But in 2016, early fall, I also had an injury, I broke a bone in my hand and couldn't skate for 4 weeks, thankfully nothing serious, but after this injury I had an amazing push in walking and became stronger and better.
This is probably the strongest boost in my walking progress, then I felt happy, I was at university, my studies were not really moving, I did not have to work, because I lived with my parents and my friends were also free.
Time passed, I only became stronger and now I ride for STRESSBMX and STRESSBIKESHOP, I am one of the best cyclists in Russia and for us, it is a virtue that our team makes BMX stronger, we developed it, because we like. We hold competitions with a prize fund of 100-200 thousand rubles, raffle spare parts, come with a team to other cities to donate a part of our energy. The guys are riding hard and I'm sure they want to MAKE BMX GREAT AGAIN too .
